Social Welfare Administration is the process of efficiently providing resources and services to meet the needs of the individuals, families, groups and communities to facilitate social relationship and adjustment necessary to social functioning. Social Welfare refers to any government program that provides help or support for those in need. Welfare comes in many forms including, but not limited to family cash aid, welfare to work, aid to dependent children, food stamps, unemployment insurance, disability and some form of national health care. The objective is to provide a social safety net for those who, through whatever reason, can not provide for themselves in one or more of these areas of concern. The ultimate goal is to reduce poverty to the maximum extent possible. These programs are funded via some combination of employer contribution and the government with the government or tax payers footing the majority of the bill. This important book is a valuable information resource guide to provide a solid foundation of knowledge for students and researchers alike.
